Once the roll is full, you tap Order, pay once, and we print all 21 photos professionally on real glossy 10×15 cm photo paper and mail them to your address in a sturdy envelope. The surprise lasts until it lands on your doormat: you will have forgotten half of what you shot, and that is exactly the point. The app itself stays free; you only ever pay for the rolls you actually choose to have printed.

The limit of 21 shots follows the spirit of vintage disposable cameras like the Kodak FunSaver: a fixed roll you have to spend wisely. A hard limit changes how you photograph. With unlimited storage you shoot fifty versions of the same moment and never look at any of them again; with 21 frames you stop, think, and choose. Each press of the shutter becomes a small decision, which is why the photos that come back feel more like memories than screenshots. The constraint also keeps the printed product meaningful: one roll becomes one envelope of 21 real photographs, a complete little story of a trip, a party or an ordinary week. If you run out, a new roll is ready immediately — the scarcity is per roll, not per customer. Less is genuinely more here, and 21 turned out to be the sweet spot.

Once your roll is full and ordered, your photos are queued for printing and shipped as soon as possible — usually the same or the next working day. Total delivery typically takes 3-8 business days depending on your country. In the Netherlands, prints arrive about 2 working days after printing; orders to Belgium and Germany take around 3-5 working days, and to the furthest EU countries up to about 8. As soon as your envelope is handed to the postal carrier you receive a tracking link by email, so you can follow it to your doormat. Prints are shipped flat in a sturdy envelope to arrive in perfect condition. Because every roll is printed in a professional photo lab rather than on demand at a kiosk, the few days of waiting are part of the experience: by the time the envelope arrives, the photos feel like rediscovered memories rather than files.

The app is free. One roll costs €7.60 and covers all 21 photos printed on real glossy 10×15 cm photo paper in a professional photo lab. Shipping to your address is calculated at checkout based on your delivery country, so you only ever pay the actual postage on top of the roll price. There are no subscriptions, no bundles and no hidden fees: you see the final total before you pay, and you only pay when a finished roll is ready to print — never up front. If you want your photos digitally as well, you can add a digital download for €2.99 per roll, which gets you the high-resolution originals of all 21 photos. Compared to buying a single-use camera and paying separately for development and prints, a roll of 21Pix usually works out cheaper, with a much better camera that is always in your pocket.

Yes. When you order a roll you can add Digital download for €2.99 per roll. We include a printed redeem card in the envelope with your prints; scan the QR code or enter the code on our redeem page and you download a ZIP with the high-resolution originals of all 21 photos. The downloads stay available for a limited time, so save them before the deadline shown on the card. We deliberately made digital the optional extra rather than the default: the printed photographs are the product, and the files are a bonus for the moments you want to share online or keep a backup of. If you skip the add-on at checkout, the photos still arrive as prints — nothing about the core experience requires the digital copies.

No, and that is the magic. Just like a real disposable camera, you compose through a small viewfinder and only find out how a shot turned out when the prints arrive in your mailbox. There are no previews, no retakes and no deletes — once you press the shutter, the frame is spent and the photo is locked away until your roll has been printed. This is a deliberate design decision, not a missing feature: the anticipation between shooting and seeing is the part of film photography that digital cameras erased, and it changes how you take pictures. You stop checking the screen after every shot, stay in the moment, and get the rare experience of being surprised by your own photographs days later. If you want certainty and instant feedback, your phone's normal camera is great at that; 21Pix is for the opposite feeling.

21Pix ships to all 27 EU member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. Dutch orders arrive about 2 working days after printing; Belgian and German orders take around 3-5 working days, the furthest EU countries up to about 8, and every shipment includes an email tracking link. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and are not included in the roll price, so you always see the exact total before paying. Prints travel flat in a sturdy envelope designed to protect the photo paper. We print and ship from within the EU, which keeps delivery times short and means no customs surprises anywhere in the EU. We don't ship outside the EU yet. If that changes, the country picker at checkout will show it first.

There are no ads inside 21Pix and no algorithmic feed — it's a camera and a print service, not an attention machine. Your photos are the private part: uploaded over an encrypted connection, stored on servers within the EU, deleted from our systems after your order is printed and delivered, and never sold or used to train AI models. Separately, like most apps, we collect anonymous, aggregate usage data (for example app opens and how far through a roll people get) to improve the app, and — only with your consent — we measure the performance of our own ads on platforms like Meta and Google so we can bring more people to 21Pix. On iOS that consent is the system "Allow Tracking" prompt; on Android and the website it is a consent choice you make, and you can switch analytics off any time under About → Privacy in the app. We never sell your personal data, and advertising measurement never includes your photos. Party mode photos are the exception: they go to the party's host and are kept until 30 days (free parties) or a year (paid parties) after the party. The full details, including the advertising identifier, retention periods and your GDPR rights, are in our privacy policy — written to be actually readable by humans.

Party mode turns 21Pix into a disposable camera for everyone at your event. As the host, you create a party on 21pixapp.com and get one QR code to share on invitations, table cards or a screen. Every guest who scans it gets a party camera in the free 21Pix app, right next to their own camera, with a separate roll of 21 shots. Just like a normal roll there are no previews and no retakes, so guests shoot the way people did with a paper disposable on the table. Every shot is sent to you. If you like, you open the big screen on a laptop connected to a beamer or TV, and the photos fall onto a table of real-looking prints, one at a time, with the guest's first name written on each print. After the party you download every photo in full resolution, and each guest can order prints of their own party roll in the app. Hosting is free for up to 30 guests.

Hosting happens on the website, so you don't need the app yourself. Create a free host account on 21pixapp.com with your email address and a password, then click the link in the activation email we send you. Once your account is active, create your party: give it a name, pick the date, start and end time, choose the colour of the party camera your guests get, pick a scene for the big screen (wooden table, white marble or neon club) and the film look (Kodak '90s colours or the photos as shot). You can also choose whether guests' first names appear on the prints on the big screen. You then get one QR code, as a PNG, an SVG, a printable table card and a poster, plus a 6-letter party code. Share them however you like. In your host dashboard you can follow the photos coming in, moderate them, open the big screen, end the party early or extend it, and download everything afterwards. You can also start from the 21Pix app: the Host a party button opens the same website.

Yes. Guests shoot with the free 21Pix app for iPhone or Android, because the party camera lives inside it. Joining is simple: guests scan your QR code with their normal phone camera, scan it with the 21Pix camera itself, or type the 6-letter party code in the app. Anyone who doesn't have the app yet is sent to the App Store or Google Play first; after installing, they scan the code again or enter the code. When joining, a guest can enter a first name, which is what appears on their prints on the big screen, and agrees that their party shots are shared with you. As the host you don't need the app at all: creating the party, moderating and downloading the photos all happens on the website.

Every party starts free, with room for up to 30 guests, a roll of 21 shots per guest, the big screen, the QR kit and the full-resolution download. When you expect more people, you upgrade that one party from your host dashboard, starting at €29, up to 1,000 guests. For bigger events, like festivals, contact us and we'll set up a plan that fits. You pay once per party, prices include VAT, and there's no subscription. Paid parties also get your logo on the party camera, the option to give guests extra rolls, and a year to download the photos instead of 30 days. The current tiers are listed on our pricing page. Prints are separate from hosting: each guest can order prints of their own party roll in the app, at €0.36 per photo plus shipping, exactly like a normal 21Pix roll.

The big screen, or the wall, is a web link you open on a laptop connected to a beamer or TV. Every photo falls onto a table in 3D and lands on a growing pile of real-looking prints, with the guest's first name handwritten on the bottom of the print, unless you switch names off. You choose the scene: a warm wooden table, white marble or a dark neon club table. You can also show the join QR code, your party name or logo, and a live counter of shots and guests. At busy parties the screen takes turns between guests, so everyone gets their moment. Before a photo is shown it passes two checks. An automatic filter holds back clearly inappropriate photos; you see those blurred in your dashboard and can still release them. Every other shot waits a moment before it goes on the screen (two minutes by default; you can make it shorter or longer per party), and in that time you, or a friend you give the moderator link to, can pull it. You can also remove a photo after it has appeared. Want to check the laptop and beamer beforehand? Test the wall with demo photos first.

Every shot taken with a party camera goes to the host. During the party you see them come in on your dashboard, and afterwards you download every photo in full resolution as a ZIP file, with the originals always included. If you like, you open a web gallery and share its link with your guests, so everyone can see the whole party. Guests don't see their shots in the app, just like a normal 21Pix roll: their party roll shows up as a strip of film negatives. Each guest keeps that roll and can order prints of it in the app, at €0.36 per photo plus shipping, through the same order flow as any other roll. The host doesn't pay for guests' prints. Their personal 21Pix camera and rolls stay separate from the party and are never shared with the host.

Party photos are stored on Amazon Web Services servers in Ireland, inside the EU. They're deleted automatically 30 days after a free party ends, or a year after a paid party ends. The host gets a reminder email a week before and a day before, so there's time to download everything. When guests join, they see who the photos go to and agree to share their party shots with the host. Only the first name they enter is shown, and they can leave it out. A guest can leave the party at any time. A shot, once sent, is final: only the host can remove it, and a guest who wants a photo gone asks the host or emails us at info@21pixapp.com. The host decides what happens with the party photos and is responsible for them; 21Pix stores and processes them on the host's behalf. We never sell photos or use them for advertising or to train AI. Like the rest of 21Pix, the app collects anonymous usage data to help us improve it, and you can switch that off. The details are in the Party mode section of our privacy policy.

Yes. Party mode was built for weddings, birthdays and company events, but also for concerts and festivals. You can upgrade a party yourself up to 1,000 guests, and for bigger events, like festivals, we set up a plan with you: just contact us. At busy events the big screen takes turns between guests, so a few very active photographers can't take over the screen and everyone gets their moment. For company events, a paid party lets you put your logo on the party camera, and you can show your event name or logo on the big screen. The neon club scene is made for dark rooms, stages and festivals; the white marble scene suits weddings. Moderation scales with the crowd: the automatic filter checks every shot, and you can hand the moderator link to a colleague who keeps an eye on the hold while you enjoy the event. After the event you download everything in full resolution.

When guests join a party, a second camera appears next to their own yellow 21Pix camera, in the colour the host picked and with a label showing the party's name. Guests swipe sideways to pick up the other camera, a bit like reaching for a second disposable on the table. The camera you're holding when you press the shutter decides where the shot goes: party camera shots go to the host, while shots on your own camera stay on your personal roll and are never shared. The party camera has its own roll of 21 shots, and hosts of paid parties can allow extra rolls. Shots taken without a connection are sent as soon as the phone is back online. When the party ends, the party camera is put away and any unused shots lapse. The party roll stays with the guest's film rolls, where they can order prints of it.
