Terms & Conditions

The short version: 21Pix prints the 21 photos you shoot in the app and ships them to you. You can't preview, edit, or delete the shots — that's the whole point. Once you place an order we start printing your personalized photos, so the 14-day EU right of withdrawal does not apply and orders cannot be cancelled or refunded except where we've made a mistake or your package never arrives.

1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions are a binding agreement between you and:

By downloading, installing, or using the 21Pix app, and especially by placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What 21Pix Does

21Pix recreates the experience of a single-use film camera. You shoot 21 frames through a tiny in-app viewfinder. Once a roll is full, you can order it; we print every frame on real photo paper and post the prints to you. By design, you cannot:

  • preview, retake, edit, or delete photos before printing;
  • see the developed photos before they arrive in the mail;
  • choose which frames are printed — all 21 are printed.

This unpredictability is the product. Please don't use 21Pix if that's not what you want.

3. Eligibility & Geography

You must be at least 16 years old to use 21Pix.

We currently accept orders from a limited number of EU countries. The list of countries we ship to is shown in the country selector in the app at checkout, and may change as we expand. If your country is not in the selector, we don't yet ship there.

4. Orders, Prices & Payment

  • Prices are shown in EUR (€) and include any applicable VAT.
  • Each roll is exactly 21 prints. The total at checkout includes printing and shipping.
  • Payments are processed by Mollie B.V.. We accept iDEAL, Bancontact, credit card, PayPal and Apple Pay, depending on your country.
  • Your order is confirmed once Mollie reports a successful payment. We then begin printing.
  • We never see or store your card or bank credentials.

5. No Right of Withdrawal — Personalized Goods

Important consumer rights notice. Under Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (implemented in Dutch law as art. 6:230p sub f BW), the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized.

The prints you order through 21Pix are produced from the unique photos you shoot, with your roll, in the film look or AI style you choose, ordered by you. They are personalized goods. By placing an order and ticking the acknowledgment in the app, you expressly agree that:

  • your prints qualify as personalized goods within the meaning of Art. 16(c);
  • the filter or AI style you select is part of that personalization, and its visual result is subjective and not guaranteed;
  • printing begins immediately after payment;
  • you waive the 14-day right of withdrawal; and
  • your order cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded for change of mind, including because you don't like the filter or AI effect you chose.

6. When We Do Refund or Reprint

We will reprint or refund, at our choice, in the following cases:

  • Our printing error — e.g. prints that are damaged, the wrong size, or visibly defective due to our printing process.
  • Lost in shipping — if your prints don't arrive within 30 calendar days of dispatch.
  • Technical failure preventing upload — if an issue on our side stopped your roll from being delivered to us at all (and therefore no print was made).

To claim, email info@21pixapp.com with your order ID and (for damage claims) a clear photo of the issue, within 14 days of receiving the parcel.

We do not refund for: blurry, dark, over- or under-exposed photos; accidental shutter presses; change of mind; an incorrect address you provided; the filter, film look, or AI style you selected not matching what you expected (filters and especially AI effects are applied to your personalized order and their results are subjective and not guaranteed); or the developed photos simply not being what you hoped.

These terms do not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer under Dutch or EU law (in particular the legal warranty of conformity, art. 7:17 BW).

7. Your Photos

You keep full ownership of every photo you take. By placing an order you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, print and ship those specific photos for the sole purpose of fulfilling the order. We will never use your photos for marketing, AI training, or any purpose beyond your order.

You confirm that you have the right to print the photos you submit, that you have any necessary permissions from people shown in them, and that the photos do not contain:

  • sexual content or nudity, or any content depicting minors in any sexual context;
  • illegal content, hate speech, or material glorifying violence;
  • content infringing someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.

If a roll contains content that is unlawful or that we reasonably believe falls in the categories above, we may refuse to print it and cancel the order. We will refund such orders unless the content is clearly illegal.

8. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law (including liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or breach of statutory consumer rights).

Subject to the above, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of irreplaceable photos, or emotional distress arising from the prints not meeting subjective expectations.

9. Governing Law, Disputes & Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence still apply where they would give you greater protection.

If you have a complaint, please email info@21pixapp.com first — we will try to resolve it within 30 days. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. Disputes that can't be resolved informally fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, without prejudice to your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where consumer law allows it.

We may update these Terms. The version that applies to your order is the version that was published when you placed it. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email to recent customers.
