21Pix started as a camera for one person: a roll of 21 shots, no previews, no retakes, and real prints in your mailbox. Today we're adding something for the moments you're not alone. With Party mode, everyone at your party gets their own disposable camera in the 21Pix app. Every photo they take comes to you, and every guest keeps their own roll to have printed.
If you've ever put paper disposable cameras on the tables at a wedding, you know the idea. Party mode is that, without the plastic and without waiting weeks for a lab. And with one extra: the photos land on the big screen while the party is still going.
How it works
- Create a party. Make a free host account on 21pixapp.com and set up your party: a name, the date and time, the colour of the party camera and the look of the big screen. You don't need the app yourself.
- Share the QR code. You get one QR code, as an image, a printable table card and a poster, plus a six-letter party code. Put it on the invitation, on the tables or on the screen.
- Guests scan and shoot. Guests scan the code with their phone and open the free 21Pix app. They get a party camera next to their own camera, with a roll of 21 shots. No previews, no retakes. A swipe switches between the two cameras.
- Watch the photos arrive. Every shot comes to you. After the party you download them all in full resolution, and if you like, you open a gallery for your guests.
Guests without the app are sent to the App Store or Google Play first. After installing, they scan the code again or type in the party code.
A party photo wall that feels like prints on a table
Open the wall link on a laptop connected to a beamer or TV. Every photo falls onto a table as a print, one at a time, with the guest's first name handwritten at the bottom. Over the evening the prints pile up, the way they do when someone empties an envelope of fresh photos onto the table.
We could have made a grid of thumbnails. But a grid shows files, and 21Pix has always been about the moment a photo becomes a print. So the wall is a real 3D table with real-looking prints: paper that curls a little, lands softly and slides.
You choose the scene: a warm wooden table, white marble, or a black neon club table for dark rooms. You can show the join QR code on the table, so people who arrive later can still join, plus your party name and a counter of shots and guests. At a busy party the wall takes turns between guests, so everyone gets a moment, not just the three people who never put their phone down.
You can try it before your party with demo photos, to check the laptop and the beamer. There's also a live demo on the Party mode page.
What about photos you don't want on the screen?
Two checks run before a photo reaches the big screen. An automatic filter holds back photos that are clearly inappropriate; you see those blurred and can still release them. Every other photo waits two minutes, and in that time you can pull it. You can also hand a moderator link to a friend, so you're not the one staring at your phone all night. And a photo that has already appeared can still be removed.
A wedding disposable camera app, and more
If you were looking for a wedding disposable camera app: this is our answer. Every guest shoots the day from their own seat, and the photos end up in one place, with you. Your guests keep their own rolls too, so they can order prints of the day as they saw it. In our guide to disposable cameras at weddings we wrote that 21Pix wasn't the tool for collecting everyone's photos. With Party mode, it is.
The same goes for birthdays, company events, concerts and festivals. A QR code photo camera for events only works if joining takes seconds and the screen stays fair when hundreds of people take part, so we built it for that. On paid parties you can put your logo on the party camera, which makes it work for company events too.
After the party: every photo for you, a roll for every guest
When the party is over, the photos go two ways.
You get all of them. In your dashboard you download every photo in full resolution as one ZIP, with the originals included, whichever film look you picked. If you like, you open a web gallery and share the link, so your guests can see the whole party, not only their own shots.
Every guest keeps their own roll. The party roll stays in the guest's 21Pix app as a strip of negatives, like any other roll. They can order real prints of it in the app, at €0.36 per photo plus shipping. There's no development wait, and the prints arrive at their home. You don't pay for them.
So the party ends in two places at once: the complete set with you, and a small stack of prints at the home of every guest who orders theirs.
What it costs
Small parties are free: up to 30 guests right now. For a bigger party you upgrade that one party, once. No subscription. Paid parties also get your logo on the party camera, extra rolls per guest, and a year to download the photos instead of 30 days. Right now the tiers are: free up to 30 guests; paid (one-off per party, incl. VAT): up to 50 guests €29, 100 guests €49, 200 guests €89, 500 guests €169, 1,000 guests €279, more than 1,000 guests: contact us. You'll always find the current prices on the Party mode page.
Prints aren't part of hosting. Like with any 21Pix roll, each guest orders and pays for the prints of their own party roll in the app.
Privacy
Your guests' photos are personal, so the rules are simple. Party photos are stored in the EU and deleted automatically: 30 days after a free party, a year after a paid one, with a reminder email before that happens. Guests agree to share their shots when they join. Only their first name is shown, and they can delete a shot at any time, or delete everything they sent when they leave the party. We never sell the photos or use them for advertising or to train AI.
Hand out the cameras
Party mode is built around the same idea as the rest of 21Pix: fewer photos, taken with a bit more attention, that end up somewhere better than a camera roll. At a party, that somewhere is a table full of prints that everyone is looking at together.
